It is for information that Election to elect 04 members for
the Punjab State Veterinary Council under the Indian
Veterinary Council Act, 1984 will take place on 07th January,
2020 from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm at Five (5) different Polling
Station in the State of Punjab. These Polling Stations are
being identified and will be informed in due course of time
through The Tribune (English) and Dairy Ajit (Punjabi)
newspapers. The said information will also be available on
Website of the Council i.e.
www.punjabvetycouncil.org.in very
soon and on the website of the Department of Animal Husbandry,
Punjab. You are an elector for the said election.
The list of contesting candidates is sent through
attachment file for your information. Some of the
important instructions regarding casting of Votes, as
notified, are as follows:-
Polling at a Polling Station:
1) The electors shall present themselves in person to
cast their votes at the Polling Station.
2) On the production of
Identity Card issued to him/her by his/her controlling officer
or by the concerned Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry I/c of
the district where the office of elector is located or he/she
resides or by the Registrar, Punjab State Veterinary Council,
the elector shall receive Form No.VI to be marked by him/her
there and then on the day and place of polling to cast his/her
vote.
3) Each elector has the
right to vote upto 4 (four) candidates in order of preference
and the vote shall be non-transferable.
4) The Assistant
Returning Officer and Returning Officer shall permit
candidates and their duly authorised agents to be personally
present at the time of polling and counting of votes
respectively, if they so desire.
5. Other Instructions:-
1) The elector shall vote by placing the Mark “X” opposite
the name(s) of the candidate(s) who he prefers.
2) The voting paper shall be invalid if, -
(a) It
does not bear the Returning Officer’s or the Assistant
Returning Officer’s initials or facsimile signatures; (The
Returning Officer shall sign the Voting Paper or Ballot Papers
to be sent by post and the Assistant Returning Officer
concerned would sign the ballot papers for his polling
station) or
(b) the voter signs his/her name or writes a word or makes any
mark on it by which it becomes recognizable as his/her voting
paper ;
(c) no vote is recorded thereon; or
(d) the mark “X” is not placed as to render it doubtful to
which candidate it is intended to apply or if it is placed
against the names of more number of candidates required to be
elected (i.e. four).
